Worm Fence, or Snake fencing, was a staple of the North American landscape for hundreds of years. With plenty of readily available timber, rough cut beams were simply stacked on top of each other and set at right angles for stability. No North American battlefield set between 1700 and the American Civil War should be without plenty of these.
