| ISSUE 137’s 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF CUSTERS LAST STAND It’s an epic milestone for General Custer -- the 150th Anniversary of the Battle at the Little Big Horn, June 26th, 1876. I can’t remember what it was like, living as a kid just 85 years after the real event – being told about the massive rush of warriors coming up through the cervices and tall grasses surrounding Last Stand Hill; the haze of smoke reported by Weir seen from two miles away, and it was only 80 years or so after the fall of General Custer and his 7th Cavalry Plus an American Revolution spectacle in miniature, the 3-D printing story deepens in Part II. This issue we also honor the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution with a Marx spectacular gathering of four miniature Revolutionary War sets seen in our “2 Shot” feature, plus Custer in 60mm, We also have a nice farm pictorial outtake from American Farms, the new book being released now and actually available as of this writing. Bruce Redenour created this short “day on the farm” feature and others in the wildly colorful and vivid new book, showing and discussing in vital detail the 90 farm playsets on the pages of our newest work. You’ll see the who’s who of collectors and contributors to this work, many more than usual, since this topic is so vast and since interest is often funneled into the early sets, or the 1960 era, or the later sets. The book has them all and all are colorfully documented and photographed for your enjoyment. |
