| Use for • Chipping paint: Dab the sponge into a dark brown or metallic paint, then gently tap it on model edges to mimic paint scratches and worn metal. • Rust effects: Use orange, brown, and dark red pigments/paints in layers to replicate corroded surfaces. • Dust & dirt: Apply dry pigments with the sponge for a natural, random dusty look, especially on tank treads, boots, or vehicle undersides. Pigment Application • Soft blending: The sponge head picks up pigment powders well and allows you to apply them in controlled patches. - Fixative layering: After applying pigment, dab with pigment fixer (or thinner) for a locked-in effect. • Painting Textures - Stone & concrete: Create subtle stippling patterns for walls, ruins, or bases by dabbing grey tones with the sponge. • Fabric wear: Simulate faded cloth by lightly applying lighter shades onto raised areas. • Organic textures: Great for adding randomness to terrain like rocks, bark, or even alien skin. |
