The Militia Acts of the 1790's in response to threats from France created militias in every county. Large war games were organized annually at St. James park so all the local militias could learn to drill as a large army. These weeks long war-games brought all classes of citizens together from the humble farmer up the King himself, all of whom camped across the grounds at St. James Park. This backdrop has been created using watercolors that were painted at the encampment in the 1790's and digitally joined together.
