Set of 3 blue Matt Shaders specially designed to add depth, volume, and tonal variation to water features in marine dioramas, lakes, rivers, and similar scenes. These shades allow you to create subtle transparency effects and enhance the realism of water surfaces. This range of matt and transparent acrylic paints provide the same color intensity and subtle finish as inks. Unlike inks, however, these paints become water-resistant once fully dry. They allow an ideal working time for creating effects and can be easily removed with water when dry to the touch before they have completely dried. The dead matt finish of these paints makes them perfectly suited to shade panel lines and recesses on your models. You can also recreate dirt and streaking effects by spraying fine lines with the airbrush. They can also be used to slightly alter the base color by adding a few drops of Matt Shader in order to simulate more heavily weathered surfaces. They can be applied with a brush to outline or darken a specific area like a wash. The Matt Shaders can be removed with water while wet, and fully dry within 24 hours. If you want to dilute these colors to achieve a more transparent effect, use Acrylic Thinner A.MIG-2000, Transparator A.MIG-2016/2017 or Transparator Matt A.MIG-2042/A.MIG-2043. Once dry, they can be sealed with acrylic or enamel varnishes. For the best results, we recommend applying them over a matt acrylic surface with air pressure set at 1.5 kg/cm 2 (21 psi). The nozzle of the airbrush can be moved closer to the surface to apply very fine lines or farther from the surface for wider coverage. To build up several layers, let the product dry at least 12 hours or apply a matt varnish coat on top to seal the surface before continuing to apply additional layers or other effects. The Shaders color range dries completely in 24 hours and can be easily removed with water within this window of time. Do not touch the surface after airbrushing or before the paint has cured completely, doing so risks scratching or ruining the finish. Apply a matt clear coat if you want to continue applying effects or if you want to touch and manipulate your model right away. |
