Mike Jones is a Grade 4 student in Ohio and for his history project he made a flatboat that early settlers used to the voyage down the Ohio river. Mike used 1:72 Pioneers (Imex Pioneers, #516) on a rough-hewn flatboat. The settlers are floating past an Indian village (Imex Eastern Friendly Indians, #522) on a bend of the Ohio River. Mike received an A+!

Overview of the Ohio River. We really like the placement of the trees – very nice groupings.
The river is ingeniously done with plastic wrap. The banks look exceptionally real with gravel and pebbles for boulders.
Great looking flatboat with cabin.
The Indian camp set at the edge of the woods. Lichen on sticks make handsome and inexpensive trees.
The settler waves “Good-day!” as they sail off, into the sunset.
