Ultra-fine saw blade (48 t/cm - 120 tpi). This is a very fine saw blade and is recommended especially for the finest model-related cuts. This blade can be used to cut plastic, wood and resin. The blade is paper thin and the teeth are so fine that they require magnification to be seen (but they are there never the less). Ideal for separating clear parts, especially vacuum-formed clear parts. This saw was also successfully tested on soft sheet metal such as brass, copper and aluminium.
This saw is inspired by the Japanese Ryoba traditional saws that have teeth on both edges of the blade with the teeth handed, respectively "pull cut" on one side and "push cut" on the other side. The direction of the cut is indicated by an arrow etched into the blade.
RB Productions stainless steel saws have a great number of modeling uses. Four grades of saw are offered. All four are presented in robust but admirably thin stainless steel. The four grades are:
RBR-14 - Rapid Cut Saw Blade (12 teeth per cm)
RBR-15 - Medium Saw Blade (16 teeth per cm)
RBR-16 - Fine Saw Blade (24 teeth per cm)
RBR-17 - Ultra Fine Saw Blade (48 teeth per cm)
The coarsest of these blades is perfect for making fast cuts and removing resin parts from casting blocks. The Medium blade is a versatile, everyday tool for cutting styrene, resin and other materials. The Fine and Ultra-Fine blades will be ideal for those jobs where you need precsion and do not want to lose excess material.
The blades may be mounted on a separately supplied Universal Holder. Screws and nylon-cushioned bolts are included with the holder. Each blades is drilled with six holes, which means that they can be mounted in the middle of the Universal Holder or on either side. This will be very useful when you need to make very deep cuts, or on the shallow wide when you want a very stable cutting tool. The holder then simply slips into a regular hobby knife handle.
