Russian Heavy Tank KV-1

About the KV-1
Among the unpleasant surprises that awaited the German army as it invaded Russian in 1941 was the KV-1 heavy tank. When it entered service, it was perhaps the most formidable heavy tank in the world. Armed with a powerful 76.2mm gun and with armor thick enough to withstand attacks from nearly all anti-tank guns at the time, it could easily hold its own against the German army's tanks. However, due to an underpowered engine, unreliable drivetrain, and slow speed, it could not effectively counter the fast-paced German advances, and the KV-1 eventually made way for more modern tank designs.

Line it up with other 1/48MM Russian AFVs or display it with its former German adversaries.s Britain struggled to develop tanks capable of equaling the superior German Panzers, the decision was made to convert existing stocks of M4 Sherman tanks, delivered to the UK as part of the Lend-Lease Act. The so-called Sherman Firefly featured a long-barreled 17 pdr. anti-tank gun, which was much more effective than the original 75mm gun, capable of penetrating a Tiger I's frontal armor at over 1,000 meters using regular ammunition. The majority of Fireflies were adapted from M4A4 tanks, designated Sherman V by the British, while some were made using the earlier M4, or Sherman I in British usage. Vehicles rearmed with a 17 pdr. gun were given the suffix C, with the resulting units being Sherman VC and Sherman IC.
