
Dragon Warbirds newest release is a Spitfire Mk Vc with the code “UP-A”, with “UP” being the designation for 79 Squadron and “A” being the flight. About 250 of these variants were shipped to Australia from 1943 onwards for use by No. 1 Wing of the RAAF. The “C” in the name referred to the new four 20mm cannons that were carried on the wings. The Spitfire Mk Vc was intended for use as an interceptor against Japanese raids. “Jen III” was flown by Squadron Leader Stan Galton between August and October 1944
