The Sd.Kfz. 138/2 Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer was yet another mobile anti-tank gun based on popular 38(t) chassis. A successor to the effective and widely used Marder III series, the Hetzer was redesigned to eliminate the vulnerable top mounted gun and crew compartment. The 7.5 cm PaK 39 L/48 gun was mounted to the sloped front wall of a completely enclosed and more heavily armored crew compartment. This dramatically increased the protection of the crew, but greatly limited the gun’s movement. The Hetzer was an effective “light” Tank Destroyer that served Germany from the Summer of 1944 until the end of the war. This highly detailed model comes with many fantastic features including rotating wheels and tracks, a main gun that traverses, raises and lowers as well as an operable hatch.
