Each week the MTSC staff will pick out their favorite figures.

April 30-May 6, 2007

This figure comes to us from the Italian composition manufacturer Confalonieri-Chialu. His official title is “Billy of Kentucky (Joker)” and he looks right smart in his gingham trousers, oversized bow tie and swallow-tail coat. Tall in the saddle his comical pantaloons ride up exposing and even longer leg and his stove-pipe hat accentuates his height still further. While many of the European composition makers liberally “borrowed” figure designs from each other, Billy is truly a unique individual. He was made sometime between 1955-60 and is somewhat rare going for $ 250 and up.
