Each week the MTSC staff will pick out their favorite figures.

September 4-10, 2006

Doug again, and my Figure of the Week is not a figure at all. It’s a burning home from that venerable French company, Mignot. This flat, lead building was designed as a background for the boxed set, “The War of 1914-1915” and was made in 1915. There were several war box dioramas and this series featured “Prussians” leaving a destroyed village, as Prussians were so want to do. The set contained more ruins and even a destroyed church. In 1916, with hope of a rapid and glorious French victory now vanished, the series simply became known as “The War.”
