Each week the MTSC staff will pick out their favorite figures.

July 31-August 6, 2006

You don't often come across a figure like this one. It's a “Soldatoni in All the Positions” and was manufactured in Italy, (by D' industrial Invenzione, we think) in the ’60s. He has a distant American cousin, Gumby and as the box tells us: You take a soldatone in any position: it folds the gamboe, the arms, turns the hands, the head, changes the crews, you put it cosi, or cosi, or cosi, or in thousand other ways and he it remains them. Outstanding. As one of the original 12" action figures it makes GI Joe look like a chump (he actually measures only 10" but the Italians are a naturally short people).
