Each week the MTSC staff will pick out their favorite figures.

July 03-10, 2006

On this week of America’s Independence we chose this patriotic little fellow. He’s an American made Dimestore figure from the ’50s by the Miller company. Mainly know for their plaster nativity sets, their soldier figures were made of the same chalky stuff making them somewhat fragile in the hands of small boys. This one-man Iwo Jima scene is ML16, “Soldier Planting Flag” and is worth around $30.00 in mint condition. Many of the Miller GIs were based on popular Hollywood leading men of the time, Alan Ladd, Richard Widmark and Robert Mitchum to name a few. ~dLd
