In the 60s the Louis Marx Toy Company dominated the U.S. toy market. In 1963 Marx launched an inexpensive new line of 6" soft plastic soldiers and in 1964 Marx of Hong Kong released their series of figures. Known as GoldMarx these premium figures were cast in hard plastic and hand painted and went for a premium price; 49¢! Many of the figures had the same sculpt as their the smaller Warriors of the World counterparts and GoldMarx Marines were the same as the US 6" soft plastic marines, but their Vikings, Germans, Japanese, knights, British, and Egyptians had no US or British counterparts. This Roman figure was first represented in 60mm soft plastic. This figure goes for $30.00 when in good condition.
