Professional model builders prefer Gatorfoam to wood for fabricating structures, streets or sidewalks, retaining walls, tunnel portals, bas-relief buildings and backdrop effects, and more. Gatorfoam has a 1/32 inch thick wood-fiber veneer called Luxcell that is laminated with waterproof adhesive to both sides of a polystyrene foam core. The resulting 3/16 inch thick panel is strong, light-weight and warp-resistant. Gatorfoam cuts easily with a modeler's knife or with miniature power saws. Its smooth finish is compatible with all types of paints and adhesives, and self-stick textured building papers adhere perfectly. Gatorfoam holds up against the elements and won't delaminate with exposure to rain, so it can be used in exterior structures for garden railways and in dollhouse construction. Available in convenient size panels, 12 inches x 18 inches x 3/16 inch thick; brown veneer/white core.
