n developing their bricks Hudson & Allen has tried to provide the modeler with a material which is as realistic as possible and yet light weight and durable so that even large buildings can be built in miniature without becoming overly heavy and/or fragile. Their BRICKS come in two colors with the color and texture going completely through each brick.
Brick has been used as a building material since ancient times. Some believe that brick was being used as much as 12,000 years ago
H&A has opted to provide “undamaged” brick so that you have the option of building an undamaged structure or a damaged one. Their bricks can easily be cut with a sharp hobby knife. It can be crushed into rubble by using a pair of pliers to crush and/or twist the bricks. H&A Studio “BRICKS” can be used right out of the package or, if you wish, they can be painted using most commonly used paints. If in doubt, please test paint a single brick to make sure that the paint you are using will not affect the brick material. Any “white glue” or cyanoacrylate glue can be used to glue the “BRICKS” but you night want to try the mastic which is sold in hardware stores intended for use in applying the Brick Veneers used in home remodeling

H&A Bricks can be used to build entire model buildings with bricks which are more in scale than most currently available. They can be used to improve the look of many plaster building kits now on the market. Because these buildings are plaster which is poured into a mold there is usually one side which is devoid of any detail. You can now simply lay up a wall of “BRICKS” on the flat un-detailed side of the building which will give a very nice looking building with detail on both sides. As always, before you start to build, do some research. Look at real brick buildings and photos to learn the various bonds. Notice how “soldier courses” (bricks stood up on end) are commonly used over doors and windows. Look to see how brick window sills are made. Use these real life observations in building your models and you will soon become a MASTER Miniature Brick Mason.
