Replacement Weapons for Britains Plastic
The Swoppet figures produced by Britains Ltd in the 1960s were very innovative and exciting; but encountering these figures on today's market many times the weapons are missing rendering them useless in battle. In 1996 Replicants of England received a license from Britains Ltd to produce replacement spare parts for Swoppet and Deetail figures. These weapons are exact reproductions of the originals.t

MTSC Collector's Tip for Composition Figures
Some old dirty and dusty composition toy soldiers can be brought back to life be lightly cleaning them with 'Stand Oil.' This is a product used by artists for painting and should be available in most art supply stores. It will not harm the paint and will bring faded paint back to life. Note that Stand Oil does leave a slight glossy look to the figure but after it has been applied for a period of time (1-2 weeks) it can be lightly rubbed off, leaving a look similar to the original factory issue. A sample jar of Stand Oil is available from Michigan Toy Soldier for $1.75.

MTSC Collector's Tip for Composition Figures

Repair composition figures using 'Plastic Wood' or 'Duro's Wood Putty.' Fix detached body parts or missing pieces. Since stress cracks are considered by many collectors to be a natural part of the figure we strongly advise against filling them in unless you are completely restoring and repainting a figure. A & B epoxy works equally as well and is used by most figure sculptors. Repaint figures using Humbrol or other similar enamel paint.

Whether to restore a figure or not is a matter of personal preference but keep in mind that as a rule of thumb most dealers and collectors use the 50% rule. If 50% or more of a figure is missing paint or parts, restore it otherwise leave it alone. After a figure has been restored is the honorable thing to mark it as such.
