The Scottish clan was a large group of geographically-related people,
originally an extended family, owing allegiance to the patriarchal clan
chief.
The clan system took its roots as far back as the 5th century and was
widespread over the Scottish Highlands for many centuries. It had a long and
troubled history of turmoil and disorder, civil wars and uprisings which
ended brutally on the Culloden moor in 1746.
The 17-part resin kit depicts a clansman dressed in the typical belted plaid
and wearing the typical Highlander weapons : the basket-hilted broadsword,
the long-bladed dirk and the brass-studded leather shield.
Also included the kit are his faithful shepherd dog, and a scenic base ."
