These images are from the Anne S.K. Brown Military Collection at Brown University, Providence, RI. The first 100 images are uniforms of the Russian Army 1907-1920. Herbert Knötel’s Berlin grouping consists of 45 images done on the post World War II scene and includes those contracted for by the Military Intelligence Section, G-2, Berlin command 1945. Officially known as “Series A,” they were used to educate US and Allied military personnel on the various elements of the Soviet Army. The final 50 images cover Russian/Soviet uniforms from 1921 to 1946 with emphasis on the post-war era. By Robert W. Kenny, Jr. 200 page hardcover book with over 190 color paintings.
